Fox & Friends: Speed Pitch Goes Prime Time with Andy Pettitte for MLB Opening Day

March 27, 2025

To mark MLB Opening Day, Fox & Friends transformed Fox Square into a mini ballpark. At the center of it all? Our Speed Pitch activation, wrapped in custom Interactive Entertainment Group branding and ready for prime time.

Yankee legend Andy Pettitte, Tunnel to Towers founder Frank Siller, and Fox & Friends hosts Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones stepped up to the plate (or rather, the radar cage) for a friendly fastest pitch competition. The results were fun, competitive, and made-for-TV gold.

Andy Pettitte Talks Mechanics, Memories, and the State of the Game

Before delivering a 53 mph warm-up pitch, Andy shared a few thoughts with us—from pitching advice to Opening Day nostalgia.

On Pitching Tips:

“I would just say—make sure your foot’s flush on the rubber,” he told us. “A lot of guys today have their foot turned, and it throws off direction. Keep your heel and the front of your foot in line. Stay square. That’s a big thing for me.”

In true Pettitte form, the tip wasn’t about flash—it was about fundamentals. And it makes sense. Before you bring the heat, you need to stay grounded.

On Opening Day Memories:

Naturally, the topic turned to the moment at hand.

“A couple of my favorite Opening Day memories? My first in ’95, just sitting in the bullpen at old Yankee Stadium, looking across at the packed bleachers. Then in ’96, I got to pitch the home opener. It was snowing. That one really stuck with me.”

Snow or no snow, Opening Day in the Bronx is a moment. Pettitte’s presence in Fox Square added weight to the segment—especially with him heading to Yankee Stadium to throw the first pitch later that day.

On the State of the Game:

Pettitte also weighed in on baseball’s current moment.

“I think the game’s in a great place. We’ve got a lot of international players coming in, and we’re growing globally. I’m excited to see Mike Trout back on the field. And I’m biased, of course, but I’m pumped to watch the Yankees this year—some great additions like Devin Williams and Paul Goldschmidt. Hoping we can win it all.”

Spoiler: So are we.

Real-Time Heat, Fully Branded

Our Speed Pitch brought more than just radar tech—it brought branded visual impact to a national broadcast. Wrapped in custom graphics, the setup blended into Fox Square while standing out on screen. Viewers saw pitch speeds in real time, with Pettitte’s 53 mph toss setting the tone (and reminding us all that he’s still got it).

It wasn’t just a segment. It was an activation that delivered competition, storytelling, and brand presence in one clean pitch.

Your Brand, Center Field

Speed Pitch doesn’t need a stadium. It just needs a moment. Whether you’re planning a fan zone, a pop-up, or a morning show takeover, this activation delivers a high-energy hook with built-in visibility.
