Known for its rich surfing heritage, the city of Hermosa, CA hosted its annual Spyder Surf fest and Surfers Walk of Fame last weekend at Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza. From live performances to shopping and even gaming, the festival featured a variety of experiences made possible by some of the world’s most well-known surfer brands. Billabong in particular made waves at its pop-up with our Virtual Surfing Simulator, a motion-powered surfing experience. Surfing lovers lined up for the chance to play, using a real surfboard and their natural body weight to navigate through waves and other obstacles on a TV screen. The iconic surfer brand enhanced the experience with custom graphics within the game, making it an experience festivalgoers will not forget.

About Surfers Walk of Fame & Spyder Surf Fest
Surfing is a large part of Hermosa’s Heritage. To honor its strong surfing history, the city annually recognizes Hermosa’s surfing legends with the Surfers Walk of Fame. Each year the Surfers Walk of Fame Weekend is held, complete with an Induction Ceremony, to celebrate the newly chosen inductees. Each inducted surfer has been acknowledged by the placement of their name engraved on bronze plaques embedded along the pier. The Spyder Surf Fest followed the ceremony, featuring live music, raffles and giveaways.
