The American Thoracic Society’s Fun Zone

June 14, 2022

Nearly 14,000 medical professionals made their way to ATS 2022, The American Thoracic Society‘s annual conference designed to showcase the field’s latest advances and spark collaborations. And while many of the topics addressed were heavy, the nonprofit successfully injected some lightheartedness into the experience with a fun zone sponsored by prescription medicine brand Yupelri. Keep reading for a glimpse into the space:

Urban Hoops

The focal point of the fun zone was Urban Hoops, a city inspired basketball game gone high-tech. From a branded exterior to a custom shot clock, Yupelri’s sponsorship activation was a slam dunk success. Up to four attendees at once faced off in a 60 second competition featuring two game modes.

Quad Hockey

ATS attendees enjoyed a new twist on air hockey, featuring a high-tech round surface designed for up to four players. Rather than playing for points like in the classic version, Quad Hockey is a game of elimination. Each time a puck enters a goal, a light illuminates. Once a player’s three lights are illuminated, they are eliminated from the game and the remaining players continue in a game of survival.

Foosball Table

It doesn’t get much more classic than foosball. ATS attendees twisted and slid the metal rods to score on their opponent’s goal.
